“Super Suds” a car washing firm has been fined for the second time in four months for causing noise pollution from its machines. They were ordered to pay £465 in fines and a total of £1.257 in costs, the company was found guilty of two offences under the Environmental Protection Act in the case which was brought by Tewkesbury Borough Council.
The Company had failed to comply with a noise abatement notice which was served in 2010, when it failed to reduce noise levels, the council went back to court were “Super Suds” were ordered to pay nearly £1000 in costs and were find £375. The firm is no longer operating from the site.
The Boroughs residential services manager, said: “We work hard to ensure that the Borough is a place where people want to live and visit and this includes taking action when businesses or individuals fail to comply with legal notices. The local residents were being significantly affected by the noise of Super Suds Car Wash so this latest outcome will hopefully ensure their quality of life is restored.”
